She said ” I guess you could get it if you want…… How much is it?”
I scanned the computer screen and said ” 160.00 but they only made 5 of them and I need to order it now!”
“Well I don’t want it, but you can get it if you want it….” She wasn’t even looking up from her book anymore.
DAMN IT!…..Where would I even put it?……
“What the hell is it supposed to mean anyway?” she said with an eyebrow raised.
“I dunno….it’s Che…….and a Storm Trooper…..and people would say……wow! Thats neat!”
“No one says neat but you sweetie.”
“Well, fine! They’d say what is that a Storm Guevara or a Che Trooper? Then we would talk about how cool it was and how cool I am for getting it and then they would buy some stupid bust and put it up in their house and I would go over and say WOW THATS FUCKING NEAT, but inside I would think HA I GOT ONE FIRST!!”
“Oh god, is that whats playing out in your head?!? Besides, Storm troopers represent the foot soldiers of empire and Che represents revolution. What is this thing supposed mean?!”
“It’s ART!! It’s cool and I’m gonna order before they are sold out.”
“I thought you wanted a Wii?”
“Oh yeah…”…..no one ever comes over anyway….“Nevermind.”

Every great political scandal has its icon. Watergate had Nixon, Iran Contra had Ronald Reagan and Oliver North, everyone still loves Clinton and Lewinsky, and now we have a new cast of characters…..

The Axis of Evil, designed by pop-culture satirist and celebrated artist, Plastic God , in conjunction with top tier vinyl art toy producers, SUPER RAD TOYS , are the iconic projection of a generation totally disenchanted by politics. In this world both hero and villain share the same stage and are equally met with suspicion, distrust and most importantly, humor.“‘Axis of Evil’ is a work inspired by a time when the world’s attention was hostage to the decisions of five men.”– Plastic God
Plastic God’s Axis of Evil is a limited edition boxed set of 5″ rotocast collectibles, featuring everyone’s favorite cast of current political icons: Saddam Hussein, Tony Blair, Kim Jong-il, George “W” Bush and Osama bin Laden.
Axis of Evil will be available late September/October and will run about $120.00! WTF? Who has 120.00 for this stuff?
Also, keep a watchful eye out for the Jail House version exclusively available from CARDBOARD SPACESHIP.
This edition is limited to 250 pieces exclusively available at Cardboard Spaceship in Santa Cruz. The “Ghost of Saddam” doll glows in the dark!

Lebowski Fest LA is coming back Oct. 12th and 13th so get your robes and gel sandals ready. The first night will include bands, book signings, and a screening of the movie at the echoplex in Echo Park. The bowling event will be on the 13th at the Cal Bowl. There isn’t any information yet on the bands that will be playing on the 12th, but last year when I went we were graced with the presences of Edie McClurg (A small wonder/Ferris bueller’s day off) playing the spoons! I did show up late and it looks like we did miss Peter Stormare (Fargo/Constantine) rock out which I will not miss again. I had no idea he had a band until today and I’m kinda pissed I missed it, the band actualy sounds good. In any case if you have never been and are a fan of the movie the Lebowski Fest is worth going to. It’s a great gathering of people who like to have a good time and “take er easy”.

In other Lebowski news there is a book out in August called I’m a Lebowski, you’re a Lebowski that will be signed at the Fest. The book has a forward by Jeff Bridges, interviews with members of the cast and even interviews with the inspirations for the two main characters Jeff Dowd (The Dude) and John Milius (Walter) and is available for pre-order.
And last but not leas t in the Uber Lebowski update is the new Toys! The bobble heads will be premiering at this years Comic-con and the “Action Figures” will be coming out later.

This is a 72-minute DJ mix of star wars and geek stuff. We play a minute or two at the end of our podcast this week, but you can stream even more from the Band of the lost website. We meet Sucklord (one of the DJ’s from the group) at last years San Diego Comic-Con in his mean ass Jango Fett costume. He had gold chains, a old 80’s boombox, and of course the diamond belt that spelled out “FORCE”. The mix includes Bill Murray singing “Star Wars”, video game instructions, and even that song the geeks played at the end of Revenge of the Nerds. Sucklord also has a site where he sells other CD’s and very unique star wars toys. He even has toys of himself.

We posted about this last year on Caffeine- Headache, but I wanted to to repost since we played him on the show. (Plus I wanted an excuse to post about his toys again)
You can purchase the CD here - or stream it here.

My birthday is next month and I am running low on plastic religious toys, but it’s a bit too pricey.

Astronaut Jesus - Grey by Doma
The Argentina-based design crew is best known for their visual designs and installation arts. The Astronaut Jesus character was conceived back in 2004, and brought to adFunture for project production in Feb of 2005. Visually striking, the 24cm tall character quickly gained attention and support. This is not about religion but visual design itself.
Price: $49.99 Purchase Here -
And I did attempt to be creative by spray painting my garage last month, so…..

But sadly the character is out of stock! So what you can really get me for my birthday is something I can paint myself.

Check them all out at My Plastic Heart.

Thats right Zombie super heroes. I haven’t bought an action figure since the reservoir dogs came out with theIrs about 6 years ago, but this seems pretty on par as far as awesome goes. Spider-Man, Colonel America and the Hulk are going to be released first, which is a good start. Keep it coming damn it! I wanna see some adamantium.
The only things thats missing in the toy realm now is….Zombees!
