I suppose I’ll restrict this simply as an editorial; an examination of things to come.
After an enjoyable few months here, where I was able to wipe the sleep from my eyes, and venture out into the sun to attempt to remedy my pale complexion, September has again rolled around. The significance? Why, that little divot roughly in the shape of my rear in the couch that’s been struggling to heal is now going to be retrained for thorough use.
TV has come back…and apparently with a vengeance. The cable shows have been holding me over in the mean time are winding to an end, and the HD big boys are coming out to play. More big screen players are moving to the small screen as Television shows look upward and onward beyond the traditional sitcom and crime drama. Production costs go up, viewership does up, the audience gets smarter, and accordingly, TV gets better. Let me list the ways.
- Hot off of the heels of the DVD release, Heroes is back with it’s second season, including the miniseries Heroes: Origins. I don’t care what you say, I like the show…there’s a special place in my heart for a well done “comic book” story.
- While the first 3 episodes of the new season may have been leaked to the internet, I’ve held back…and waiting for the real thing. Dexter also begins its second season.
- Pushing Daisies - probably one of the more creative show concepts I’ve seen.
- Damn it, I like House.
- Damn it, I like 24…mixed feelings, however, about Ms. Garofalo in the new season.
And the quick wrap up of the others: CSI, Scrubs, the Office, Criminal Minds (sans Mandy Patinkin now). I know I’m missing quite a few, but that’s what the comments are for…
